Ingredients

- 2 sheets Puff pastry
- 1 cup Fresh or jarred cherries
- 1 cup Custard (homemade or pastry cream)
- 1 Egg wash
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch (if thickening cherries)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Zest of 1 Lemon (optional for custard)
Instructions
- Thaw puff pastry and cut into squares; score a smaller square inside each to help form a raised edge.
- Brush edges with egg wash and bake for 10 minutes until lightly puffed.
- Press down the centers gently and spoon in creamy custard.
- Add cherries on top—fresh, jarred, or lightly thickened with sugar and cornstarch.
- Return to oven for 8–10 more minutes until golden and set.
- Cool slightly for the custard to firm.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before use.
- For a richer flavor, use homemade custard.
- Adjust the sweetness of the cherries based on personal preference.
