- 1 cup vanilla custard or pastry cream

- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat eggs and sugar together until thick and pale; fold in flour, vanilla, and salt.
- Spread batter evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
- Roll the warm cake in parchment and let it cool slightly.
- Unroll, spread vanilla custard evenly, and gently re-roll into a log.
- For glaze, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream until smooth and glossy.
- Pour ganache over the roll, sprinkle chocolate shavings, and chill before slicing.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is warm when rolling to prevent cracking.
- Chill the roll for at least 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
