Description

Tender beef strips and crisp broccoli tossed in a rich, garlicky soy sauce glaze — better than takeout!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • Cooked white rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and a splash of water; set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. Add sliced steak and stir-fry until browned but still tender; remove and set aside.
  4. Add broccoli to the same pan with a few tablespoons of water, stir-frying until bright green and just tender.
  5. Return beef to the pan and pour in the sauce mixture, tossing until glossy and thickened.
  6. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until fully coated and sizzling.
  7. Serve hot over fluffy white rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Make sure not to overcook the broccoli to maintain its crunch.
  • This dish can be served with other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
