- 12 Cannoli shells (homemade dough)
- 1 cup Powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Chocolate chips
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter or shortening
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup White wine or vinegar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, butter, egg, and wine/vinegar to form a smooth dough; rest 20 minutes.
- Roll dough thin, cut circles, wrap around cannoli molds, and seal edges.
- Fry shells until golden and blistered; drain and cool completely.
- Whisk ricotta, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of cinnamon until smooth.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pipe filling into cooled shells just before serving.
- Dust with powdered sugar and add extra chips on the ends.
