Description

Classic Crispy Cannoli with Creamy Ricotta Filling made easy! Shatteringly crisp shells piped with silky ricotta cream and finished with chocolate crunch.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ricotta cheese (well-drained)
  • 12 Cannoli shells (homemade dough)
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter or shortening
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup White wine or vinegar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, butter, egg, and wine/vinegar to form a smooth dough; rest 20 minutes.
  2. Roll dough thin, cut circles, wrap around cannoli molds, and seal edges.
  3. Fry shells until golden and blistered; drain and cool completely.
  4. Whisk ricotta, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pipe filling into cooled shells just before serving.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and add extra chips on the ends.
