Ingredients

- 1/2 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce.
- Add garlic, ginger, and sesame oil; whisk to combine.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Stir occasionally and let reduce slightly for 10–12 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with water and whisk into the sauce.
- Simmer 2–3 minutes until thick, glossy, and spoon-coating.
- Remove from heat and cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the level of chili garlic sauce to increase or decrease heat.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
