- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh assorted fruits (berries, peaches, mango, apple)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt until crumbly, press into tart pan, and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden.
- Heat milk in a saucepan until warm.
- In another bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Gradually pour hot milk into the yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
- Return to the pan and cook until thickened.
- Stir in butter and vanilla extract, then cool slightly before spreading into the cooled tart shell.
- Chill for 30 minutes until set.
- Arrange assorted sliced fruits beautifully over the custard.
- Optionally, brush with a light fruit glaze and top with candles for celebration.
