Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (or homemade batter)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups buttercream frosting
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Black decorating gel or melted dark chocolate (for eyebrows & outline)
  • Red decorating gel (for hat tip)
  • White frosting (for eyes)
  • Edible yellow or green food coloring (for eye pupils)

Instructions

  1. Prepare chocolate cupcake batter (boxed or homemade) and bake 12 cupcakes at 175°C / 350°F for 18–22 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Tint buttercream a vibrant Grinch-green using gel coloring.
  3. Pipe a tall swirl of frosting on each cupcake using a star or round piping tip.
  4. For the Grinch face topper, pipe a smooth green dome shape at the front of the swirl.
  5. Add facial details: Pipe dark chocolate/black gel eyebrows and outlines.
  6. Add white dots for eyes, then small yellow/green pupils.
  7. Pipe a tiny smirk line for the mouth.
  8. Finish with a small red swirl “hat tip” on top (optional but matches the photo).
  9. Chill briefly to set details, then serve these adorable Grinch treats!
