Ingredients
- Unsalted butter (½ cup, softened)
- Granulated sugar (¾ cup)
- Egg (1 large)
- Maraschino cherry juice (¼ cup)
- Vanilla extract (1 tsp)
- All-purpose flour (2 cups)
- Baking soda (½ tsp)
- Salt (¼ tsp)
- Chopped maraschino cherries (¾ cup)
- Chocolate chips (1 cup)
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in egg, vanilla, and cherry juice.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt separately, then fold into wet ingredients.
- Stir in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
- Chill dough 20 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Scoop onto a lined baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes.
- Cool 5 minutes on the pan before transferring to a rack.
- Add extra chocolate chips on top while warm for the bakery look.
Notes
- For thicker cookies, chilling the dough is recommended.
- Adding extra chocolate chips on top gives a bakery-style appearance.
