- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp black gel food coloring
- Edible gold luster dust or gold food paint
- Wooden or gold sticks
- Candy thermometer
- Nonstick spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Insert sticks into apples and set aside on parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high without stirring until 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and carefully stir in black gel coloring.
- Dip each apple, twirling to coat evenly, then place on parchment to cool.
- Once hardened, brush or drizzle edible gold dust or paint in elegant swirl patterns.
- Let set completely before serving.
- Display on a stand for a stunning midnight presentation!
