Description

A delicious twist on classic flavors, combining juicy Philly cheesesteak with the messy goodness of sloppy joes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + ¾ cup beef broth (for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 brioche or hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix cornstarch and broth, then pour into the skillet; simmer until thickened.
  5. Lay provolone slices over the meat mixture; let melt and stir slightly.
  6. Spoon mixture onto toasted buns and serve immediately.
  7. Optional: top with extra cheese and broil for 1–2 minutes for a gooey finish.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños.
  • Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
