- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + ¾ cup beef broth (for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 brioche or hamburger buns, toasted
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
- Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper.
- Mix cornstarch and broth, then pour into the skillet; simmer until thickened.
- Lay provolone slices over the meat mixture; let melt and stir slightly.
- Spoon mixture onto toasted buns and serve immediately.
- Optional: top with extra cheese and broil for 1–2 minutes for a gooey finish.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños.
- Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
