Description

Tender cabbage leaves wrapped around flavorful beef, rice, and herbs, simmered in a rich tomato sauce for the perfect comfort meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil whole cabbage in salted water for 5–6 minutes until leaves soften; separate and drain.
  2. In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant; add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Mix cooked beef with rice, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling in each cabbage leaf, fold sides in, and roll tightly.
  5. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish, arrange rolls seam-side down, and top with remaining sauce.
  6. Cover with foil and bake 45–50 minutes until tender and bubbling.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • These rolls can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
