Ingredients
- Ground lamb
- Potatoes (for mash)
- Beef or lamb stock
- Onion
- Carrots (diced)
- Green peas
- Garlic (minced)
- Tomato paste
- Worcestershire sauce
- Butter
- Milk or cream
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Fresh thyme or parsley
Instructions
- Boil potatoes until tender; mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
- Add ground lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, stock, carrots, and herbs; simmer until thick.
- Fold in peas, then transfer filling to a baking dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top; roughen with a fork.
- Bake until bubbling and golden, about 40–45 minutes; rest briefly before serving.
Notes
- Oven temperature should be set to 200°C / 400°F.
- Let the pie rest for a few minutes before serving for better slicing.
