Instructions

  1. Trim green beans and blanch briefly in salted boiling water until bright green; drain well.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté until fragrant, not browned.
  4. Add green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in garlic butter.
  5. Sauté until tender-crisp and lightly blistered.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
  7. Finish with chopped parsley and optional Parmesan before serving.
