Ingredients
- Beef short ribs
- Smoked gouda cheese
- Pizza dough
- Heavy cream
- Onion
- Garlic
- Fresh basil or parsley
- Olive oil
- Salt & black pepper
- Mozzarella (for topping, optional but recommended)
Instructions
- Slowly braise short ribs until deeply tender; shred and set aside with juices.
- Sauté sliced onion until caramelized; add garlic and cook briefly.
- Simmer heavy cream with smoked gouda until smooth and velvety; season lightly.
- Stretch pizza dough onto a hot stone or baking sheet.
- Spread gouda cream sauce over dough, then layer short ribs and onions.
- Add mozzarella if using and bake until crust is blistered and cheese bubbles.
- Finish with fresh herbs and slice while hot.
Notes
- For best results, allow the short ribs to braise for a full 8 hours.
- Using a pizza stone can enhance the crust’s texture.
- Feel free to experiment with different herbs for garnish.
