Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 2–3 tbsp milk (as needed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Royal icing or simple sugar icing (white + green)
- Red & green sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and baking soda; add to wet mixture.
- Add 1–2 tbsp milk if dough seems dry; chill 20–30 minutes for clean cut-outs.
- Roll to ¼ inch thickness; cut star and tree shapes.
- Bake at 175°C / 350°F for 8–10 minutes until edges are pale golden. Cool completely.
- Prepare icing (white + green).
- Pipe outlines, flood the cookies, then add sprinkles in patterns like the image. Let dry before serving.

- Chilling the dough helps in making clean cut-outs.
- Adjust milk quantity based on dough consistency.
