Ingredients
- Beef sirloin or ribeye, cubed
- Berbere spice blend
- Jalapeño or green chili peppers
- Red onion
- Garlic, minced
- Ginger, grated
- Clarified butter or ghee
- Olive oil
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Fresh cilantro or parsley (garnish)
- Optional: splash of beef stock or water
Instructions
- Heat ghee and olive oil in a hot skillet until shimmering.
- Add beef cubes and sear quickly until browned on all sides; remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté red onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- Stir in berbere, paprika, salt, and pepper; toast briefly.
- Return beef to the pan along with sliced chilies.
- Toss and cook 3–5 minutes until beef is tender and coated in sauce.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot with injera or rice.
