Ingredients
- Green cabbage leaves
- Ground beef (or beef/pork mix)
- Cooked white rice
- Tomato sauce
- Onion, finely chopped
- Garlic, minced
- Egg
- Paprika
- Salt & black pepper
- Olive oil
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch cabbage leaves until flexible; set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft; cool slightly.
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, cooked rice, egg, onion mixture, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place filling on each cabbage leaf, fold sides in, and roll tightly.
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish; arrange rolls seam-side down.
- Pour remaining sauce over rolls, cover with foil, and bake until tender and saucy.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for added flavor.
