Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 4 cups Vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Onion or shallot, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and their moisture releases.
  4. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Pour in vegetable broth and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in cream and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Simmer gently until thick and velvety; garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mix of different mushrooms.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more or less broth.
  • Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
