- 1 ¾ cups All-purpose flour
- ¾ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cups Sugar (granulated)
- 1 cup Sugar (powdered)
- 3 Eggs
- 1 ½ tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- ½ cup Butter or oil
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 cup Fresh or frozen mixed berries
- Cream cheese or custard base
- Fresh strawberries (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two round cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs, sugar, butter (or oil), and vanilla. Combine with dry mixture. Bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Make berry compote: cook berries with sugar until thickened, then cool.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until fluffy. Prepare custard or cream cheese filling.
- Assemble cake: bottom layer with whipped cream, middle with custard, then top with berry compote.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries and chill before slicing.

- Ensure the cake is completely cooled before assembling.
- Use a mix of berries for a more complex flavor.
- Chill the cake for at least an hour before serving for best results.
