Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Make dough: mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar until foamy, then add eggs, butter, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth, let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough and cut into rounds; let rise again until puffy.
- Fry donuts in 350°F oil until golden on both sides, then drain on paper towels.
- For filling: heat milk, sugar, and cornstarch until thickened, whisk in egg yolks, then add butter and vanilla. Cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream and fold into custard for a light creamy filling.
- Pipe cream into each donut through a small hole.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature for frying to achieve a golden color.
- Let the donuts cool slightly before filling to prevent the cream from melting.
- Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
