Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar substitute
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp beef broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (or xanthan gum for keto)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess grease.
  2. Add garlic and ginger; sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, sweetener, sesame oil, beef broth, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water, then stir into skillet to thicken sauce.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and toss well to coat in sauce.
  6. Cook 5–7 minutes until cabbage softens but still has slight bite.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a keto-friendly option, use xanthan gum instead of cornstarch.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
  • Serve with cauliflower rice for a complete low-carb meal.
