Description

Homemade Samoa Donuts are soft baked donuts dipped in chocolate, topped with caramel-coconut, and drizzled with more chocolate, making them an irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (toasted)
  • 1 cup soft caramel (melted with 2 tbsp cream)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour batter into donut molds.
  3. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and cooked through. Let cool completely.
  4. Toast shredded coconut until golden. Stir into melted caramel until coated.
  5. Dip bottoms of donuts into melted chocolate, let set on parchment.
  6. Spread caramel-coconut mixture evenly over the top of each donut.
  7. Drizzle melted chocolate over the donuts and allow to set before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the donuts are completely cool before adding toppings to prevent melting.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
