A thick, crispy golden toast smothered in melted Swiss cheese and piled high with buttery garlic-herb mushrooms.
Ingredients

- 2 thick slices rustic bread
- 1 ½ cups shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Fresh thyme + parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté mushrooms in butter and olive oil until browned; add garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Toast bread on one side in a skillet until deeply golden.
- Flip, add a heavy layer of Swiss/Gruyère, and cover to melt (or broil 2–3 min).
- Once cheese is molten and bubbly, transfer toast to plate.
- Spoon the garlic-herb mushrooms generously over the melted cheese.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley and more thyme on top.
- Serve hot with cheese drizzling down the sides as shown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, use a mix of Swiss and Gruyère cheese.
- Ensure the mushrooms are well-browned for the best taste.
- Garnish with additional herbs for a fresh touch.
