Description

A thick, crispy golden toast smothered in melted Swiss cheese and piled high with buttery garlic-herb mushrooms.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 thick slices rustic bread
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Fresh thyme + parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté mushrooms in butter and olive oil until browned; add garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  2. Toast bread on one side in a skillet until deeply golden.
  3. Flip, add a heavy layer of Swiss/Gruyère, and cover to melt (or broil 2–3 min).
  4. Once cheese is molten and bubbly, transfer toast to plate.
  5. Spoon the garlic-herb mushrooms generously over the melted cheese.
  6. Sprinkle fresh parsley and more thyme on top.
  7. Serve hot with cheese drizzling down the sides as shown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use a mix of Swiss and Gruyère cheese.
  • Ensure the mushrooms are well-browned for the best taste.
