Description

Crispy golden egg rolls stuffed with savory steak, melted cheese, and peppers—a handheld twist on the classic Philly favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ lb ribeye or sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • ½ green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • Ranch or cheese sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet; sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  2. Add steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned; remove from heat.
  3. Mix in shredded cheese while still warm so it melts into the filling.
  4. Lay out egg roll wrappers; spoon about 2 tbsp of filling in the center.
  5. Brush edges with beaten egg, fold, and roll tightly.
  6. Fry at 350°F for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding garlic or mushrooms to the filling.
  • Serve with a variety of dipping sauces for added taste.
