Tender seared steak simmered in a bold tomato, pepper, and olive sauce bursting with Italian flavor.
Ingredients
- Beef steak (sirloin or chuck, thin-cut)
- Crushed tomatoes
- Bell peppers (red & yellow, sliced)
- Green olives
- Olive oil
- Garlic (sliced)
- Onion (thinly sliced)
- Tomato paste
- Dried oregano
- Fresh rosemary or parsley
- Chili flakes (optional)
- Salt & black pepper
Instructions
- Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Sear steak in olive oil until deeply browned; remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Add peppers, tomato paste, and oregano; cook until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and olives; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Return steak to the pan, spoon sauce over, cover and simmer until tender.
- Finish with fresh herbs and olive oil before serving.
Notes
- Chili flakes can be added for extra heat.
- Serve with crusty bread or over pasta for a complete meal.
