Description
Bright, glossy rainbow candy apples made by melting Starbursts—no candy thermometer needed!
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 apples (washed & fully dried)
- Starbursts (assorted colors)
- Heavy cream (small amount to soften)
- Wooden apple sticks
- Nonstick spray
- Bowls for melting colors
- Optional: edible glitter or sanding sugar
Instructions
- Insert wooden sticks firmly into each apple and lightly spray a parchment-lined tray with nonstick spray.
- Separate Starbursts by color (pink, yellow, orange, etc.). Place each color in its own microwave-safe bowl.
- For each color: microwave in 15–20 second bursts with 1–2 teaspoons heavy cream until smooth and pourable.
- Working quickly, drizzle each melted color over an apple as you rotate it—creating bright rainbow swirls.
- Repeat with remaining colors, layering them to form marbled streaks.
- Set apples on the prepared tray and allow to firm for 10–15 minutes.
- Optionally add edible glitter for extra shine.
Notes
- Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping.
- Work quickly with the melted Starbursts to prevent them from hardening.
- Experiment with different color combinations for unique designs.
