- 1 lb Ground beef or lamb
- 1 head Green cabbage, chopped
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 4 cups Beef broth
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 Red onion, chopped
- 1 tsp Ground coriander
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat; sauté chopped red onion until soft.
- Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned, breaking it up well.
- Stir in tomato paste, paprika, cumin, coriander, and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
- Add chopped cabbage and toss to coat with the spiced meat mixture.
- Pour in beef broth, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cover and cook 40–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and saucy.
- Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
